What's Next in 2012

Well, I have been a teacher for about twenty-one years. Music has been
my serious hobby. Now, that I will have more time on my hands I plan to
get back to a home studio environment. I have a decent
understanding of basic live recording, but I want to understand things
at a level that is one step beyond my current level of understanding.

I am going to get training to record with some level of confidence. I know
how to mix music. I believe that is why I must attempt to put my home studio
together. Once I try that,I won't push myself to record my own music for radio if
it is beyond my capability. I did dabble in Cakewalk Sonar... back in the day
of Soundblaster sound cards. I know things have changed alot. Frankly, give
the time and I believe I can figure it out.

I am working on a vocal currently. Eventually, I will turn it into an instrumental
for Jango/film or both.

Paypal requires that I am a non profit organization.
Therefore purchase of this music online is through CD Baby only. There is a hot button, which is in color on my store page to save you time. I am associated with a non-profit organization but, they have not had events which have allowed me to sell my music so far. If you have problems ordering from the store email me at mommusik6@aol.com subject CD sales.

Selling my music is not a problem for gigs though since I have a CD Baby credit card machine.

I would like to thank KRNN for playing "There Once Was a Man". I believe it to be
one of my most heartfelt performances recorded ever. It was on a sampler sent
to their radio station by Oasis CD Manufacturing as part of "Tools of Promotion".
The full length song is almost five minutes long. The full length version can
be heard on CD Baby on the album "Sunrise Serenade". The version heard on
KRNN is also on Jango.

Robert (Jazzy Jerome) and I went to the studio recently. It was a wonderful experience!
This just might be Robert's best performance ever. I will let you decide. I embellished
what Robert played rather than taking the lead this time. It might be a little different but,
I have received some positive feedback from artist and Blues man, Shad Harris. I value his opinion
greatly!

Although Jango represents my sound at gigs this website represents the collaborative
efforts between Jazzy Jerome, my brother and myself,as well.

Soon my life will slow down enough where I can make more music for radio and accept
live performance opportunities including keyboard.

What's the Purpose? Then and Now

Purpose Then and Now

Then-The first purpose of the sale of my music initially was to help others in need in Stockton Unified School
District, in Stockton, Ca. Students wrote essays and a group of panelist selected a finalist. This stipend was given to help with books,etc

In 2012 -Montesori Children's House in Stockton will receive the remaining proceeds as a token of appreciation for providing a scholarship
to our eldest daughter Janay Martin, many years ago. As future funds accumulate I will find a way to get it to my community for Arts related
endeavors. I believe the Arts have been critical to my success and happiness. Thank you to all of those who have made this dream a reality.

A favorite artist and my connection

I was no older than thirteen when my cousins from Southern California
came to visit. One of them accidentally broke my $1.99 album of "Fool
on the Hill" that I played on my phonograph. My Cousin Jesse, their father
insisted on buying me a new album so he bought the real version by
Sergio Mendes and Brasil 66'. There was something special about that
album. I went on to memorize parts of "Upa Neguinho" and others. And
that is how Sergio Mendes and Brasil 66' was selected for my Jango station.

I noticed I have some fans in Brazil based on my hits so, I want there
to be music representing many cultures since "music appreciation" is
something I enjoy as a lifestyle that started early.

Why do I blog?

Music sources say that in today's music market, songwriters should
have websites.Well, I am a songwriter/artist. The Art Walk, in Downtown Stockton
has been a wonderful experience for me and I am glad that it gave
me a chance to match my sound with artists who appreciate something more relaxing in effect.

I believe I should maintain my individuality for my fans, so when
I blog I will try to speak from my point of view. I do realize that whomever
I team up with repeatedly for an instrumental could be a critical part of
my success at getting to the next level.

Recently I was invited to teamed up with Mable "Jimi" Choice and the drum circle.
I enjoy collaborating with other musicians.

A lot of people prefer bands to solo artists. I acknowledge that here! This
blog is how you get a chance to hear what's happening and how you
can get involved. On Jango I have an offer whenever my fan base doubles
I offer my music on sale. I started with 20, then 40, then 80. You see how it
works. That way I greet my new fans and say hello to existing ones without
pressure.

Fortunately, so far I have been able to collaborate with some very
fine artists, so right now, I am satisfied with the CD's, and singles
I have put out there.

I sincerely say "Thanks" to those I have worked with on both of my projects,
I also say thanks to my Jango fans for their support and comments.
